Just figured it out. I’ve dealt with horrible dandruff my entire life, and no doctor has ever been able to diagnose why it was so bad. They’ve told me to use Head & Shoulders more (made it worse), told me to try Selsun Blue (made it worse), gave me medicated dandruff shampoo (made it worse), and just now, I even had a fool tell me it was fuckin’ ringworm.
Really? Ringworm on your head makes your hair fall out, dumbshit. Do a .17 second Google search and it’ll tell you that on every page that comes up.
He gave me some cream (“just to see”, he says), and so before I threw it in the trash I wanted to look up all the side effects and what it was actually even for (because he couldn’t even answer the most basic question of, “so is it an antibacterial or something”).
Well because Wikipedia leads you on magical journeys across the worlds strangest facts of nature, I happen to come across Seborrhoeic Dermatitis. And it’s exactly what I have. I mean, verbatim. The same shit I’ve been dealing with for years, that not one doctor could come up with. The dandruff is only one symptom of it, and that’s all anyone would look at, even though I always told them everything else. Some of the symptoms were totally blatant too, as in, they only mean its Seborrhoeic Dermatitis.
So riddle me this:
Why the fuck do we have general practice doctors, if any idiot - I use that term loosely, I find myself to be wildly intelligent ;) - with a computer can figure shit out better than 20 years of schooling can?
Why not just have a receptionist with Medscape.com up on her computer, you tell her what you’ve got, and then she gives you pills or what-have-you? Then you high-five, and you’re on your merry way.
P.S. - I don’t legitimately believe that would work across the board. But I’m just pissed that I’ve been to 3 (or more possibly) doctors, and every one of them prescribed me something that actually made the condition worse. Fucking ridiculous.
